INTERCOUNTY CHALLENGE AT GALWAY

It may be an all-graded affair at Galway Greyhound Stadium later tonight, however, there will be plenty of interest in proceedings as the track holds an Intercounty challenge.

Backed by the local GOBA, the initiative has attracted great interest, so much so that there will be a second challenge next weekend at the Connacht venue, and each race will offer a brilliant €500 to the winner.

Given the excellent prize money on offer, the rivalry is sure to be fierce and the standout race on the card is race nine, which is the WGOBA Intercounty Challenge A3 525. Indeed, there are a number of improving trackers in this contest in the shape of Jaydens Lady, Drombeg Pearl and Clareabbey Bob, however, it is Lakeside Albert who should take all the beating. A full brother to recent Con & Annie Kirby champ Knockeen Dazzler, Jack Mahoney’s charge won an A3 contest when coming from off-the-pace last time out and he looks to have a nice make-up to come home clear of Jaydens Lady.
