Shelbourne Park To Host UEFA Europa League Final ‘Fan Meeting Point’

 

Home of Greyhound Racing Proud To Welcome German Football Fans

The 2023/24 UEFA Europa League Final will take place in the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday 22nd May and Greyhound Racing Ireland are delighted to announce that Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium are set to host their first ever ‘Fan Meeting Point’.

Football enthusiasts will converge at Shelbourne Park, commencing mid-morning, as the stadium gates swing open to welcome German supporters of Bayer Leverkusen, who recently made history as they set a new European record of 49 games unbeaten.

Favourites Leverkusen are chasing a treble of titles, having recently been crowned as the new Bundesliga champions while their rivals Atalanta will be the underdogs heading into the match having knocked out Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and three-time finalists Olympique de Marseille in previous rounds.

Straight from Dublin Airport circa 11am, fans will dive headfirst into an atmosphere pulsating with excitement, camaraderie, and unyielding team spirit. Setting the stage for an unforgettable prelude to the final showdown, Shelbourne Park will be a hive of activity, boasting an array of entertainment on the in-field of the greyhound track under the fabulous Dublin sunshine:

 

Live Music: Set the rhythm for the day with foot-tapping beats and anthems to fuel the fan frenzy.

Morning Delicacies: Indulge in scrumptious morning snacks to kick-start the day on a delicious note.

Sizzling BBQ: From mouthwatering burgers to roasted sausage dogs, satisfy your cravings with a sizzling selection hot off the grill.

Quenching Your Thirst: Raise a toast to your team with a curated selection of beverages served at the open bar from a pint of stout to a pint of beer.

Famous footballers: Rumour has it that some famous German footballers will be on site for some selfies and chats.

Those fans lucky enough to have a ticket to the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League final will leave Shelbourne Park around 6.30pm to do a fan march to watch the match between Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen in Aviva Stadium. Kick-off is 8pm.

Road Closures: Be mindful of road closures in the vicinity ahead of the match.

Uninterrupted Racing: Weekend racing at Shelbourne Park will proceed without interruption, ensuring a seamless experience for all.

Peak time: 11am (buses will be arriving from Dublin Airport).
