Barry Drake previews the Final:
ORCHID QUEEN
Powerful running lady with a fantastic draw along the inside of the track. Really caught the eye in the semi-finals, running a huge race behind Unmatched. Will be doing her best running from halfway and she looks certain to reach the frame once more. Will need one of her best starts to land the spoils. She's one to watch over longer trips in the weeks ahead.
DROOPYS ONESTOP
One of two runners in the feature final for Blarney trainer Johnny Linehan. Lacks early pace, but powers home. Her best run in the event run came in the opening round, clocking 28.37. Two big runs in defeat the last twice, however, will need a flying start to score tonight. Could well run into the paces in this feature final.
UNMATCHED
Sensational performance to win her second round in 28.07. Another outstanding display last week, overcoming the wide trap six draw to win, in 28.36. Drawn to perfection in trap three and she's expected to make all the running in this line-up. Certain to start as the short-priced favourite and the exciting tracker should take the world of beating in this tonight. Banker material.
BALLYMAC RUN
No stranger to big race success and she returned to winning ways last weekend when making the most of the inside draw to win. This is a much tougher draw and she will need to do everything right to make the frame in this. In truth, the super-talented lady will need to rocket to the corner to slip around in front. It does look like a very tough task.
GOLDCASH ICE
Impressed two runs ago when powering home to win, in 28.47. Never really featured last week, however, ran well to progress to the decider. Has strong form around course and distance, however, the draw trap five looks very tricky and she is another who lacks early pace. She will need luck in this, especially if she's to trouble the market principals.
FAYPOINT SUSIE
In superb form in recent weeks and ran great in the recent Cork Cup final at Curraheen Park. All about early speed and she has hit the crossbar the last twice, running big races in defeat. This is a really tough draw out wide and she will do well to win the early lead tonight. May struggle to get involved tonight.
