VALUABLE GRADED STAKE IN HONOUR OF PAT CURTIN AT MULLINGAR

A new stake has been announced remembering Pat Curtin, one of the great characters of the sport, who sadly left us last year. Of course, Pat steered Shelbourne Aston to Derby glory back in 2008 and was the unofficial host of many of the greatest parties ever seen in the sport at both Winters of Dundrum and Dandelion on St Stephens Green.

The stake is being sponsored by his great friend Ian Reilly and will simply be known as the Pat Curtin Memorial Cup.

Worth an impressive €3,000 to the winner, the stake which is for A4/A5 greyhounds is set to commence on Saturday, June 15th. It’s a wonderful prize and certainly one worth chasing. Anyone looking to have a runner should contact the racing office before entries close at 5pm on Monday, June 10th.
