HAWK TAKES FLIGHT IN ENNISCORTHY’S APRIL UNRACED

Hogans Hawk was the standout winner in the delayed second round of the April Unraced at Enniscorthy on Monday night. Willie O’Connor’s daughter of Droopys Sydney and Powerful Mush simply too hot for her rivals, making all to come home six lengths clear of Piercestown Page in 28.80.

AUTUMN DOMINANT

Next fastest was Ballybreenautumn as she won the final heat in similar fashion. Owned jointly by John O’Connor and John Somers, the daughter of Ballymac Bolger and Droopys Claire dominated to emerge a facile eight length winner over Hatfield Darling in 29.12.

DILEMMA IN A THRILLER

There was a much closer finish to Heat 3 where Johnnys Dilemma and Dellser Jack had a tremendous buckle throughout. The latter led into the turn but was headed out of the second bend by Johnnys Dilemma.

The pair were almost back on level terms off the final turn but Cormac Doyle’s Johnnys Dilemma (Vimmerby/ Decide Upon) stuck on gamely to take the verdict by a half length in 29.14.

MODEL LOOKS THE PART

Roanna Model emerged a good winner of Heat 2 for Adrian Maher and Robbie O’Neill. Prominent rom the start, the daughter of Burgess Bucks and Ballyoran Maid took over from Ballinabola Eve at halfway before easing on to see off Desert Glory by five lengths in 29.23.
