Patrick Flynn (GM of Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium) hosted the first meeting of the Greyhound Industry Fundraising Committee last week attended also by representatives of Special Olympics Ireland Elena Brunton & Paul Aherne.

The group have set themselves the task of raising funds for the upcoming National Special Olympics Ireland Games due to be hosted in Dublin in June of this year.  The date for the Fundraising night itself has been set as Friday, April 13th at Shelbourne Park.

Patrick Flynn confirmed after the meeting “I am hugely excited that the work of the committee has begun and am heartened by the number of calls I have received from people pledging their support.  The committee members (and those who were not able to attend but have expressed their interest in getting involved) are all extremely passionate about the task at hand and determined to progress this event on behalf of the Irish Greyhound Industry.”

A full list of sponsorship opportunities will be released next week and all sectors of the Greyhound Industry will be asked to support in some way.  If anyone would like to get involved please contact either Patrick @ or alternatively any of the committee (a full list of whom will be named next week)
