A race night for the Heart & Lung appeal at the Mater Foundation was held at Youghal last Friday 11th September. The night was organised, in conjunction with track manager John Mc Grath, by Mater patient Billy Dunne and his family. Billy was given the gift of life by a donor when he underwent a heart transplant operation at the Mater hospital. The Heart and Lung appeal was established in 2012 and the Mater Hospital is the only hospital in the Republic of Ireland that performs Heart and Lung transplantation. A huge crowd was in attendance at Youghal for this very worthy cause. Great effort was put in to selling all the 750 Buster Race night tickets and a raffle was held with all proceeds going to the Mater Heart & Lung appeal.

The highlight of the race card was the Cronin Family sponsored A1/A2 525 in aid of the fundraising night. The Billy Dunne owned Oaklands Paddy didn't disappoint his owner on his fundraising night as he stayed on well to win the Buster race.

Women turned on the style and added plenty of glamour to the Oaks Final matinee meeting at Youghal on Monday 3rd August at Youghal. The difficult decision in picking a winner was left in the capable hands of style consultant Rita Lane from 'My Wardrobe Matters'. The winning lady was Eimear Coffey from Youghal who impressed the judge with her style. Eimear won 2 nights B&B at the Castlemartyr Resort Hotel with an evening meal on one night in the Bell Tower restaurant.

Congratulations to all our winners and finalists. Thank you to all the ladies who dressed up and added style to our 2015 Oaks Final at Youghal. Also a big thank you to our main sponsor Castlemartyr Resort and all our sponsors.
