Limerick Greyhound Stadium are delighted to welcome Munster Stadium Showjumping back on Friday June 9th 2017. This year, the Limerick committee are delighted to announce that they are running a 1.10m horse class, which is open to everyone.
A rider can qualify one horse for the final and the horse rider combination may not have previously competed at a level above 1.20m either on the national circuit or abroad. No horse substitutions will be allowed in the final.
There are four qualifying venues, at which the top four placed combinations will qualify for the final. Should a rider not be available to take their position, the qualification will be passed down to the fifth place rider.
Newmarket on Fergus: 30th April
Kingdom County Fair: 7th May
Aglish Charity Gymkhana: 21st May
Limerick/Clare Tenner Series Clonshire: 4th June
Prize money in the final is €2,000
We also have a very exciting change of format for the amateur class. This year, the amateur class will take on an ‘interprovincial team’ layout. With teams of four athletes from Munster, Leinster, Connaught and Ulster competing against each other for glory. To add a bit more spice, there will also be an individual prize for the outright winner of this competition.
Munster will run a qualifier on the 4th of June at the Tenner Series in Clonshire. The class will run within the metre class on the day. The first four placings will make up a team to represent Munster. Should a rider not be available to take their position, the qualification will be passed down to the fifth place rider.
An athlete can only compete in one competition at the Limerick leg of Munster Stadium Jumping.
