The Irish Greyhound Board has launched a new Ownership programme, aimed at promoting Greyhound Ownership of all forms. The programme, currently being rolled out nationwide, aims to make information on ownership more accessible to all.
The new-look ownership webpage went live this week at igb.ie/ownership and information leaflets are currently being distributed nationwide to all Greyhound Stadia. The first 100 new ownerships registered will receive a Welcome Gift Pack, plus over the coming months new owners will receive a number of 2 for 1 admission passes to allow friends and family to come along and see their Greyhound in action.
Curraheen Park & Limerick Greyhound Stadium are also trialling a new initiative which will see six restaurant tables randomly selected and each allocated a Greyhound in a chosen race. The aim of this initiative is to showcase the excitement of ownership, and the winning table will be invited to the podium for the winner’s presentation.
Existing Greyhound Owners & Trainers are also being encouraged to introduce family, friends or colleagues, and are welcome to pass on the Ownership Information leaflets available in their local stadium, refer them to the IGB website, or contact ownership@igb.ie.
The new Ownership programme coincides with work currently being carried out by the Retired Greyhound Trust & the Irish Kennel Club to promote Greyhounds As Pets. A National Greyhound Gathering Day has been organised for Saturday 28th July in Dublin. The day, which will offer fun for all the family, includes competitions open to all registered Greyhounds 12 months or older, and offers people the opportunity to meet the Greyhounds up-close and get a greater understanding of the breed.
