Frank Melville integrity recommendations received

27/03/2012
Bord na gCon has taken receipt of Frank Melville's independent recommendations into two racing integrity concerns in 2008/9.

As a result of this the following has been decided:

  • A new team has been formed to review an incident that allegedly occurred in Dundalk in June 2009. This review will further underpin and reinforce greyhound Identification systems and the review will be put before the Board at its meeting at the end of April.

  • The Board have accepted that some samples were taken under the incorrect racing regulations in 2008 and hence could not be processed. The current regulations supported by the requisite documentation have been in place since the Board became aware of the incorrectly processed samples. This matter is now fully closed.

The Board would like to thank Mr Melville for his work.
