Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium today announced Connolly’s Red Mills as the new sponsor of The Irish Greyhound Laurels 2012. Connolly’s Red Mills have signed up to sponsor Munster’s richest greyhound event for the next three years.

The Irish Greyhound Laurels has been running in Cork since 1944, and the 68th Irish Laurels will take place at Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium, with the first round on Friday 21st September and the final scheduled for Saturday 20th October. The winner’s prize fund is set to be €30,000 and the total prize money scheduled to be won on the night of the Laurels Final will be €65,000.

Curraheen Park in association with Connolly’s Red Mills is delighted to announce that there will be a €3,000.00 bonus to the highest placed bitch in the Connolly’s Red Mills Laurels 2012.

In association with Connolly’s Red Mills Irish Laurels, Curraheen Park will also play host to the greyhound industry’s first ever Live Forum on Monday 15th October. The Live Forum will allow the public to send in their greyhound racing questions to a panel of leading experts including industry experts, owners, trainers, racing managers, journalists and board members.
The Forum will be streamed live on a number of websites including the newly designed Irish Greyhound Board website - www.igb.ie and will facilitate questions from those in attendance and those submitting questions online. The forum will allow the many interested parties in the greyhound industry to come together and discuss issues facing everyone concerned. The Live Forum will be held after the Semi Finals of the Laurels and Part 1 will focus on the stake, Part 2 will relate to the overall greyhound industry
